Education and long-term illness

Posted 25/07/2018

It’s important that a child’s education doesn’t suffer due to long term illness or injury. If your child is unable to attend school for more than 15 days, the school will inform the local council and provisions will be made for continuing education, depending on the circumstances. You should give the council as much information as possible regarding your child’s needs and capabilities. They will then decide a course of action such as home teaching, online alternative provision, or a combination.
