Functional Skills

Moving Forward – Increasing Employability

Functional Skills (FS) courses cover the essential skills that young people need to participate in life, learning, and work. Qualification courses are available in English, Maths, and ICT for an ability spectrum ranging from Entry level to Level 2 courses.

FS English tests the 3 core literacy skills of Reading, Writing, and Speaking and Listening. FS Maths focusses on the skills and processes that students need in everyday life.
